Diane's writing was easy to understand. As this is the story of my mother's grandparents journey to Minnesota I found I couldn't put it down. My mother is Linda Pankonin in the story. I enjoyed it very much. Good job, cousin.Jane Strausser

Journey of a Minnesota Pioneer Family Diane Kay Dick 9781490958361 Books Reviews
I grew up in Cottonwood County and had relatives who lived in Westbrook and near Mt. Lake. As I turned the pages of Diane's book, I encountered many familiar names, including one of my relatives. I loved learning more about what their daily lives were like. People from that time period seem so much more real now!
I was born in Westbrook and spent the first 18 years of my life there, some of those years on a farm just a mile or two from H K Rupp's farm. Ms. Dick's depiction of pioneer life in southwestern Minnesota gave me a great insight to the lives of my family who settled in Rosehill Township from areas of East Prussia in the 1880's, and whose descendants live in that area yet today. Thank you for a wonderful book about the lives of your great people.
Diane did a tremendous job writing this book. I had some interest in the book because I live close to Westbrook, and grew up a member of the Red Rock United Methodist church. It far exceeded my expectations. Diane's book gave me a glimpse into the life of a wonderful, christian man's life, and the people in his family. The heartache of losing crops and loved ones, and the joys of a simpler time. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
One other thing that made me happy, was to see my great-grandma, Ida Reese, listed as a student at the Mennonite school.
Diane's writing was easy to understand. As this is the story of my mother's grandparents journey to Minnesota I found I couldn't put it down. My mother is Linda Pankonin in the story. I enjoyed it very much. Good job, cousin.
